want to switch but a few questions

is zext basically the same as JCM?
but say a more advanced version

i would prefer zext it seems to have more features availible for it.

but as a quick question.

could i change from jcm to zext without loseing anything if i back up my SQL database now and reimport it later?
or would i still lose things

can you still do all the same things you could with JCM in zext?

im not great at making layouts so will jcm skins work for it?

one last thing, i notice members have the ability to delete their topics can you remove these sort of permissions easily?

Now, just so you know, ZEXT and Lenix are different systems, ZEXT will include the features you are talking about, i'm I will make a conversion for JCM and lenix 1.0. After the beta is released of course. Also, to answer your question, yes. Lenix is a newer version of JCM, but ZEXT is an even newer version of Lenix, which is twice as fast with half the file size.

After I posted that, Matt emailed me saying that he will be sending me the latest copy of zext in couple of days. So the new cms should be live on the site very soon. I'm not sure about public release yet, will need to discuss that with him in more detail after its running on the site. But you should be able to see it live very soon. That what I was told, so will cross my fingers and wait.

Maybe there is a perfectly good reason for that. I am quite happy to wait given the fact he posted here recently explaining his current position.

I can't get in touch with Matt for a while now. His not even answering my emails. So I don't know guys. If I don't hear from him soon, I might need to look for other coders for this project. I'm tired of waiting and not knowing what the hell is going on.
